Today's weather: 25deg C and 15-18 kts - Scorchio! After the longest winter known to Man in the UK we have migrated south to Mar Menor and it is hot - unbelievably, georgeously, doing my head in hot!
Many who got their boats together yesterday got out today. For me it was a day of careful boat building (much to Alan's disgust) but I am all set for tomorrow. Ian Southworth is here with a 2 year old Bladerider that has never been put together let alone sailed and he kept me company whilst we gave helpful advice from the beach such as - "oh he didnt want to do that" and "that has got to hurt" when we watched one boat run into a reef. Fortunately nothing that the Carbon repair pack that came as a freebie with the event could not fix.
The French have turned up. One boat has a verse and chorus of "Little Wing" by Jimi Hendrix written on the side in felt tip. According to Simon it was the first Moth ever built in France. Surreal.
More of me going on about how hot it is here tomorrow. Hope it is not too cold where you are.
