Mach2 Parts

Some of you may be aware of the aluminium mounts that I had made for the Mach2. These are to replace the existing plastic parts. They have the advantage of not only holding the wand axle securely but also do not twist laterally. They are hard anodised. I originally had 10 sets made up and people like Si Payne, Mike Lennon, Ricky Tagg amongst others have now fitted them to their Mach2s.

In response to several requests, I have commissioned another 10 sets which I have now received. 6 are already reserved. If you are interested in a set they cost £55 or 72 euros inc P&P. This is a non-profit exercise for me. If you are interested please let me know via graham dot simmonds at blueteq.com.

I have also commissioned a replacement part for the mast socket. Anyone who has sailed their Mach2 frequently will know how quickly this wears. I recently replaced mine with the standard part and the mast has sunk 5mm already. The new part will be made out of black plastic with a phosphor bronze insert for the mast pin to sit in. I am having 5 made up of which 3 are already reserved. If you are interested again let me know via graham dot simmonds at blueteq.com.

On a different note, I was very sad to read Felix's blog about his experiences with Fastcraft (Assassin). The overriding lesson of that very long entry is that in all things you always get what you pay for. I hope for the sake of the person still waiting for their boat after 8 months that they settle their differences quickly.
