Boomed up and ready to go

Hurrah the boom arrived this week and has already been used in anger. I had one of those fantastic sails in 12-15 kts on Thursday evening where everything goes well. Upwind I was getting a tide assisted 15kts and over 20 kts downwind. I am learning that hiking hurts and that education through pain is the way forward. No pain no gain!

I am on my own this weekend as all the regular top HISC Moth sailors are sailing at Cowes in a slalom event in conjuntion with the Extreme 40s organised by Si Payne. This is the trouble with everyone that sails regularly at HISC being Nationals (and in some cases Worlds)  top 10 material - hopefully one day it will rub off on me!

Anyway we have the Pennant weekend at HISC which is where we get the exclusive use of our club and no open meeting is organised. Not only is there the Pennant series with a prize giving at the end of the wekeend but kids get their own series as well. David, my son, will be sailing his Tera and probably will do a lot better than his Dad!
