After a difficult delivery, where I, as an expectant father, spent hours wating in various airline and haulier waiting rooms, it is great to get my new baby home. She looks very mean with her new black tramps but she is a very long way from being ready.Things to be done:- Fit 1:32 kicking strap - replace all Vectran(?) strops with Dyneema that won't break after two sails
- Fit SailingBits ride height adjuster - looks like I am going to have to file off quite a lot of the front of the dagger board lip to get it to fit.
- Put the gantry on
- Fit new aluminium mounts
- Replace mainsheet with longer version
- Fit 2 x continuous control lines for kicker and cunningham using Marlow Excel Control.
- Fit adjustable wand when I get it off Phil!
- Put foils together - I intend to "belt the crap out of them" as the manual suggests. Any manual that tells me to do that is worth its weight in gold!
and a hundred other little things including the inevitable Blueteq stickers!
I cannot wait to sail her!

What a long list of jobs still to do. Hope I get mine ready to sail in a day. At least as a 2.0 version.

ReplyDeleteConny - I ordered a medium Mach2 mast as this best suits the Hyde sail I use.
Hi Graham - just a note to say thanks for your and Ricky's help on Sunday sorting the ride height. When I went back out after the fix I was riding too low which I can easily sort out with a few more turns on the adjuster. Could you also pass on my thanks also to Ricky for general advice on rigging and on the water - all invaluable. As I won't be at Hayling for a few weeks, I wonder if any chance of a photo of yours / Ricky's solution to lack of purchase on vang and cunningham?
